Competa Holidays - Walking in the Sierras

All of the villas are ideally situated on the edge of the Natural Park of the Sierras Almijara and Tejeda, which provides spectacular views and dramatic landscape.

The Finca Los Pinos, with La Pequena and the Log Cabins on site, are ideal for groups of up to 14 people.

There is a wealth of walking opportunities at all levels. The terrain ranges from fertile river valleys, relatively gentle lower hills, to the rugged high sierra up to 7,000 feet.

Many walks pass through groves of olive, almond, citrus fruits and vines at the lower levels, with pine woods, maquis and alpine flora at the higher levels.

There is an abundance of wildlife, especially birds, butterflies and wild flowers. Golden eagles, Griffon vultures and wild mountain goats are regularly seen.

For guided walking, we work with the excellent Moorish Trails who will provide guiding on a daily basis, or provide a full week's programme. They supply fully experienced British mountain guides, who are locally based and would like to share their knowledge of the area and love of the hills with you. All walks are tailored to suit individual requirements.

Charges are 15 euros per person per day, with a minimum daily charge of 60 euros. Special prices for groups of 10 - 14.

High quality 4-wheel drive transport will allow you to truly explore the hinterland of these dramatic mountains.

We are able to offer All Inclusive prices for groups of 8 - 14 people. These are available from 3rd January - 30th April and 7th September - 30th November. These All Inclusive prices are based here at Finca Los Pinos and include Airport transfers, accommodation, all meals (breakfast taken at Finca Los Pinos, packed lunch, and Evening meals at different restaurants in the village), transport to and from the village for evening meals, Guided walks for 4 days/ week. Not included are flights, drinks with evening meal, and insurance.
